The illustration is based off of this excerpt from a short story by author Scott Young:
"The vales around are inhabited by the fey, and any non-human is often suspected of being a faerie in disguise. As I strode down what passed for the main street, an elderly lady muttered something under her breath and threw a bent horseshoe nail at me – presumably to see if I recoiled from the sting of cold iron."
