This is an image I created for fellow comicbook fan, blogger and prolific twitterer Aaron Meyers. He is using it as a header for his blog, Proactive Continuity. Made using Maya and Photoshop. The Rom model is completely rigged, so look out for some quick animations in the future.

AWESOME!!! finally some good Rom fan art again! i'm going to post this here http://www.romspaceknightart.blogspot.com/ but if you have a problem with that let me know.
ReplyDeleteNo problem at all! I'm glad you like it. I enjoyed looking at your blog as well.
DeleteVery Cool look you just gotta give those eyes an edge a bit of spark or flame to make him less robotic and more alive like a heart beat!
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of these comments. I'm more of a fan of the Buscema style than Ditko's ROM, but this is definitely t-shirt worthy!
ReplyDeleteApparently blogger marked this comment as spam, and I just noticed. Fixed. Anyway, thanks!
DeleteI simply love seeing this 3D rendering of my favorite childhood cyborg hero! Great job - I think I'd like to see more "heat exchange" on the neutralizer, with the 3 discs separated a touch more - but otherwise, MAN!
ReplyDeleteLove the scratches and mild damage his plandanium has suffered! Love the gunmetal level of chorme you gave him!
Love it!
Excelsior!
Thanks for the comment! I mostly used a gallery of ROM cover art as reference. The details of his armor and neutralizer vary so much over those 75 issues! It was hard deciding exactly how to build it.
DeleteAnyway, there is quick animated test of this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVpUydd3cjs One of these days I'll get back to it, if for no other reason than to add some length to the beginning and end.
