Dancin' Pandas *Update*

*update* Not my style, but my niece and my cousin's daughter loved their panda prints, so I'd say it was a successful project. Theirs had notes and words floating in the sky.

Just getting started on my niece's Christmas present.

Harley Quinn Sketches *UPDATE* FINAL

Update: Finished! Fixed the angle of Harley Quinn's left foot that was bothering me, touched up some of the shading and highlights on her, and knocked out the background. If you'd like a signed 8x10 for just a few $ hit me up on twitter @johnbunger or in the comments.

Update: Mostly finished Harley herself and sketched out the background:

Doing a Harley Quinn illustration for my nephew. This is the starting sketch:

This was my first sketch, but I wasn't as into it. I will go back to change some things and have it as a second Harley Quinn piece:

Sunday Sketches

Sketched some Bat-villains during the commercial breaks of the Vikings game yesterday, and took a sketch suggestion last night to do something from Tron Uprising. I liked the two-face enough to add some color last night as well.

Armored Rover - Low Poly

Here's an armored rover with a big ol' cannon I made for fun. Started it a long time ago (around the same time I made this mini soldier guy) and returned to finish it recently. Made with Maya, only 516 triangles.

Zombie

When I want to do a quick sketch but don't give myself a time limit I'll end up spending all night on it. Anyway, it's supposed to be fairly PG, hence the lack of gore:

10 Minute Sketch Challenge - Oni Press - D.B. Cooper

I did a 10 minute timed sketch the challenge set forth by @Sketchbattle on twitter. Goal was to pick any character from Oni Press's lineup and do a 10 minute sketch. Here are a couple I did of Brian Churilla's D.B. Cooper character (Awesome mini-series). I actually spent about 12-13 minutes on this first one, so I did another to turn in, which is the second one here.

ROM Spaceknight - Proactive Continuity

This is an image I created for fellow comicbook fan, blogger and prolific twitterer Aaron Meyers. He is using it as a header for his blog, Proactive Continuity. Made using Maya and Photoshop. The Rom model is completely rigged, so look out for some quick animations in the future.

Here's a 1920 X 1080 wallpaper version of the close-up: Rom Close-up Wallpaper

Superman Flying *Update*

Made some minor edits. Redrew parts of the face and made the shading more vivid.

Also created a larger version with a wide background for use as a desktop background here: 1920 X 1080 If you would like a different size for wallpaper, or would like to purchase the full size original for printing purposes, say so in the comments.

24 Hour Comics Day

I gave 24 Hour Comics Day 2012 a shot, joining a group of artists at Legend Comics and Coffee in Omaha. The event ran from noon Saturday until noon Sunday. I thought I had a good plan, but without ever doing it before I didn't complete a 24 page comic. The result is a 14 page comic, with the last page being just pencils. I had 5 pages done by 5pm, 8 pages by 10pm, and it when downhill from there, productivity wise. Overall it was a good experience but I'm not doing it again without a sleep session in the middle. #24HCD

Here are the results and a couple photos. I will update the comic as it is completed. Click the images for a bigger view:

Spider-man Sketches: Round 1

I really like drawing this guy, and I think I need to do it more often. As a little kid I made a lot of Spider-man drawings, but I stopped for some reason.

Darth Bowser

Another Star Wars / Mario Bros mash-up. Still missing some detail, like texture on the sleeves and slots in the mask, but I need to work in the morning so I'm going to bed.

Alien Pets

An alien pet, or maybe some kind of livestock.

Cave Woman

A couple of days ago I went to the CGTalk daily sketch forum and decided to do the sketch of the day, which I hadn't done in a long time. The subject was 'cave woman' with a 35 min time limit. The pencil sketch on bottom took about 25 minutes, and the full version was a few hours.

Just finished the model the other day. The graphic is from a painting I did a few years back.

Storm Koopa Troopa - Real Time 3D View

Going to see the Avengers movie today, so I thought I'd do a couple Hulk sketches.
