Introducing THE REF

The Ref. He's a thug stomping, alien fighting bringer of justice. In the city of San Numa, the presence of aliens has thrown the populace into chaos. His sometimes partner, the vigilante scientist Lucy Chung (here, here, and here), gives him access to tech that helps him in their shared mission.

This image is almost a year old. I was holding onto it until I had more of the overall plot developed:

Authorized Personel

Just an idea I had for a comic sequence. I'll eventually turn it into a short story; I have ideas. Until I add something though, just imagine them discussing random, mudane, non-work stuff as they enter the door that needs two people to simultaneously pass a thumb print and retinal scan.

This was done in a few hours with an ink brush and water soluble pencil.

New Bottle of Ink and Some Brushes

Today sucked. To help get my mind off of it I stopped in the art supply store and wandered around. Thought about buying some Copic markers, but ended up with a bottle of super black india ink and some brushes. Haven't drawn in ink with real brushes in a very long time. I forgot how much I love it. Expect to see more!

Succubus WIP

Started with a loose pencil sketch then brought into Sketchbook Pro.


I just found some hilarious reading when I searched for the word "succubus" to check the spelling. Related search was "Are succubus real?" So of course I clicked that, and there is a TON of stuff on Yahoo Answers that had me laughing. Lots of serious and not serious answers to questions like:

Spider-man - take 2

Work in progress:

Yesterday, I blew the original Spider-man sketch up, lightened it, and printed it out. Then I inked it by hand, scanned it, and added color in photoshop. Working on the background now, and some other small changes. The working file is bigger than the file above. (2013 draw every day #005)
